Hotel Marlowe Wedding of Eddie and Rachael: What an awesome couple. I really got to know them before their wedding during their Wellesley College Engagement Session so I was pretty psyched up for their wedding this past June at the Hotel Marlowe which a a gorgeous and unique boutique hotel in Cambridge, MA.
The day started out with Meg photographing the guys and me photographing the ladies in the hotel. I was so happy the Eddie and Rachael had a first looks and it really allowed them to have some quality time with their family and wedding party before the craziness of the wedding day began. The area outside the ballroom was gorgeous and provided a great place to shoot some formals after the first look.
Outside ceremonies can be at the mercy of nature in New England and the day could not have been better. Bald blue skies and a nice 80 degree temperature with a little sea breeze. I loved the family touches having each set of parents reading passages during the ceremony. From the ceremony we did some exploring and found some great nooks and crannies near the Hotel Marlowe property. My favorite was under the bridge with the tile “red coat” mural depicting a scene from the Revolutionary War.
Before heading into the Hotel Marlowe wedding reception I had a few minutes to spend with Rachael and Eddie on the gorgeous red couches in the lobby area so they could have some alone time and couple portraits. I headed up to the reception to await the couple and their Star Wars “The Imperial March” entrance music. That entrance really set the tone for the reception and there was even a surprise with one of Eddie’s brothers serenading the couple while playing acoustic guitar. This was only the first serenade as Eddie’s buddies then surprised us later with another group song which had everyone in stitches with laughter.
I just want to thank you for having me and Meg as part of your wedding day. You are both awesome and generous people and it was a pleasure photographing your engagement and wedding!
