Migis Lodge Wedding Perfection!
What an awesome day for Leah and Steven’s wedding at Migis Lodge on Sebago Lake in Maine.
Leah and Steven have been together for five years and over this time their bond has increased and they really enjoy the unique qualities of one another. When I asked Steven what he loved about Leah he said that she’s Insightful, creative, and “CrAHzy” and Leah’s response about Steven that he was thoughtful, hilarious, intelligent. When you are around these two it’s obvious that they really love each other and the “Crahziness” of being a couple. They really wanted an wedding to reflect their style as an artsy couple with a touch or funky, edge, glam and they pulled this off in a big way!
It was one of those perfect Maine summer days where it’s almost too warm, but the breeze of the lake just makes it perfect. I loved that they got ready in separate cabins on the property. It was such a cool walk through the pine trees from Leah’s cabin to the Lodge with Leah and her bridesmaids. Leah waited in an unused room so no one would see her once she arrived at the lodge and one of my favorite photographs of the day is Leah sitting pensively in a chair by herself framing her thoughts. The wedding took place on a ridge over looking the lake and the beauty and emotion of the day was in full force from the first moment that the couple saw each other as she emerged from the Lodge.
There was so much thought put into the details and the details really helped people experience the day in a meaningful manner. One of the most emotional details of the day was the wedding photos of parents, grandparents, great grandparents lining the tree on the path from the lake to Migis Lodge. My second favorite detail of the day had to be her vintage jewelry bouquet in lieu of flowers. They real knew how to make their wedding day unique, but it still retained the Maine flavor, Steven’s suit had to be the best looking suit I’ve seen in a long time. That man has style!
The time on the water making photos was a blast and the reception was laid back and full of funky dancing and lots of laughter and some hilarious photos from the Photo Booth! There are some great photo booth photos
The night ended with a bonfire and it really brought home the flavor of Maine! I love that Leah has such a connection to Maine and camp life on a lake and had made it infectious with Steven. One of the reasons Leah and Steven asked me to photograph their wedding was that we have a connection about What a Camp Means to us and our love for movies. Their engagement session is also something you have to check out at Movie Theatre Engagement
